This beautiful weather today is making us think about the upcoming summer with warmer temperatures and the sun out, so we're knitting some summery accessories with plant fiber yarns to keep them light and cool.
This week we're going to feature Catalina from Tahki Stacy Charles. It's 100% Mercerized Cotton which gives it a beautiful sheen, but what gives it even more textural interest is that it has a thick/thin texture that knits up into soft, subtle stripes. In stockinette or garter stitch it would be much more pronounced, but in the lace pattern in Sanibel Cowl it gives it an airy and light feel, even a little whimsical, perfect for summer! This yarn comes in 50g balls with 131 yds, and our store sample took a skein and a half. The color palette is a nice blend of neutrals so this cowl is certain to become your go-to accessory for the summer.

What's worse than knitting with rough, dry hands? Savannah Bee Body Lotion combines the moisturizing and softening properties of beeswax and honey in a luxurious while the Hand Cream seals in moisture and creates a protective barrier with bee propolis and royal jelly. A small dab will leave your hands soft and smooth in their non-greasy formula so you can treat your skin and keep right on knitting!

It's hard to believe it's almost August and time for a new KAL! We had fun in July with the Medano Beach, perfect for trips to the farmers market or the beach.
For August we have chosen Reversible Listado Cowl.
This pattern is designed to accomodate a self-striping yarn to create vertical and horizontal lines. Our store sample is made out of one skein of Cascade Longwood Sport which is 100% Superwash Extrafine Merino. It has a beautiful drape and is incredibly soft to work with!
This will be a great pattern for that transitional Fall weather that will be upon us soon!
Thanks for reading and enjoy this month's KAL!
