Welcoming Malabrigo

April 24, 2015

Nitro Knitters is very excited to welcome Malabrigo to our already fabulous lineup of yarns.  Malabrigo is known for their beautiful kettle dyed colors and lusciously soft bases.  No two skeins are alike, and each one is equally beautiful.  This week we will highlight sock weight and worsted weight Rios.

With 440 yards of luscious 100% Merino wool, Malabrigo Sock can tackle just about any fingering weight project.  It is soft enough to wear around the neck, and strong enough for socks.  In Malabrigo's signature colors, it will make any pattern pop.  The shawl shown is Painted by Louise Zass-Bangham.  The depth of color in the yarn highlights the pattern and texture of the shawl.

Rios has 210 yards of Pure Merino Superwash.  This scrumptious yarn feels wonderful in the hand while knitting. Perfectly suitable for accessories such as hats and scarves, they will be a joy to knit.  With an array of colors, there's one to suit everybody.  The hat shown is Field of Wildflowers by Joji Locatelli.  It will be a joy to knit as well as wear.

Malabrigo Arroyo is an incredibly soft, sport weight 100% Superwash Merino, dyed in Malabrigo's beautiful signature colors.  With each skein containing a generous 335 yards, this yarn is perfect for finer gauge next-to-skin accessories, hats, and even garments.  The picture shows Arroyo in Regatta Blue knit up in Joey Infinity Scarf by Andee Fagan, finished with hand-made copper buttons from Tres Chic.

Rasta is a super bulky dream!  Made of 100% soft and lofty Merino wool, there is nothing quite like Rasta.  Because of its heavy gauge, it is the go-to yarn for projects that need to be finished quickly, great for last-minute knitted gifts.  The picture shows Bulky Moebius Cowl by Haley Waxberg knit in Archangel, a fun, quick uber-popular free Ravelry pattern.
