Berroco Mixer

May 26, 2017

Berroco Mixer is a fun and beautiful blend of different textures, tones and sheen.  As the name suggests, it is a mix of different yarns that are fused together - not knotted together.  It knits up with so much depth and visual interest.  It's a blend of cotton and rayon, making it a great option for summer accessories and tops.
For our store sample we knit a simple but classic lacy infinity scarf that is light and airy for summer.  It would also look pretty in Poppy Poncho.

NanoStitch Lab Kinetic DK

May 19, 2017

At the start of the season, we expanded our offering from NanoStitch Lab to include their Kinetic DK base.  It is a lovely 100% Merino Superwash with a bouncy twist, so it gives stitches good definition and feels good to knit with.  We've chosen a palette of colorful, fun speckles that are light and perky.

Angela and Heather of NanoStitch Lab are from near Seattle, so they're Pacific Northwest Locals!  We are excited to announce that they will be at our store Friday, September 15th for a trunk show.

Anne is teaching a hat class in June, Touch of Noir, with a beautiful cable design that pops with the twist of the yarn.

Nitro Introduces Phydeaux Designs

May 03, 2015

Nitro Knitters is excited to add Phydeaux Designs to our ever-expanding lineup of amazing yarns.  Phydeaux (pronounced "fido") Designs is a one-woman knitting California-based design company owned by Brenda Lavell.

Brenda loves fiber and color and she looks at dyeing yarn as a form of painting.  It allows her to bring color to life for all of the knitters who are lucky enough to choose her yarn for a special project.

As a knitter, Brenda likes truly variegated colors that neither stripe or pool.  She wants to be surprised on each row with pops and flecks of unexpected color, so she dyes color ways that she enjoys knitting and that are inspired by the amazing colors of Old World Europe.

We have brought in Beurre "butter" fingering weight and DK weight.  Brenda could not have chosen a better name because this superwash merino yarn feels like butter in your hands while knitting.  The lighter fingering weight is a generous 485 yards, perfect for garments and accessories.  The DK weight is just slightly lighter than worsted at 230 yards and would be a dream to knit into garments or accessories.
