Anniversary Cast-On Party!

April 21, 2017

It's hard to believe that May 1st will be a year since we bought the store!  To celebrate we are going to do a Cast-On Day on Monday the 1st.  We have chosen some really cute summery top patterns that we'll start on May 1st and work on them through the month, with the goal of finishing in time to wear this summer.
Sunshine coast Heidi kirrmaier
Sunshine Coast by Heidi Kirrmaier has a classic design that would flatter many shapes with very attractive details.  We have chosen Cascade Yarns Anchor Bay, a blend of 50% wool and 50% cotton.  The wool helps the cotton hold a shape while keeping it cooler than 100% wool.  It has a lovely hand, good stitch definition and creates a very nice finished fabric.
cancun boxy top cascade hampton
Cancun Boxy Lace Top by Erin Kate Archer is a loose-fitting top designed to layer.  We have modified the pattern to fit a little better and longer.  If you join us for our KAL, we will share these modifications with you.  We have chosen Cascade Yarns Hampton, a blend of Pima Cotton and Linen to keep the fabric nice and summery!
jordan wendy bernard
Jordan by Wendy Bernard is knit in the round with easy-to-memorize lace patterns.  It creates a light and airy layer that's fun to wear.  We suggest Elsabeth Lavold Hempathy and Silky Wool or Tahki Baja
gemini jane richmond
Gemini by Jane Richmond is knit top down in one piece with a lacy accent around the neck.  Great versatile wardrobe staple.  We suggest Elsabeth Lavold Silky Wool.
cap sleeve lattice top purl soho
Cap Sleeve Lattice Top by Purl Soho is a fun one-piece sweater with a mesh neckline and seamed at the sides.  We suggest Ewe Ewe Yarns Ewe so Sporty
musselshell cardi berroco suede
Musselshell Cardi by the Berroco team features their re-released suede in a cropped length.

February 26, 2016

Mark your Calendar for Multiple Events to Celebrate our Recent Second Anniversary!!
It's hard to believe it's been two years since we opened.  We have some fun events planned to celebrate!

Cozy Does It

Join Meaghan, the Unapologetic Knitter and our newest team member and designer, for a Cast On Party for her newly released pattern Cozy Does It KAL on Thursday, March 3rd from 9am to noon.

Meaghan is a huge fan of cozy, smooshy shawls and cowls that make you want to nuzzle down into them and just revel in the yarn.  The shawl is worked from side to side and uses just two skeins of yarn in ANY WEIGHT.  It is easy to memorize the pattern and just knit your way through a book, a movie, a road trip... anything that doesn’t require immediate use of your hands. The tassels finish it offwith just the right embellishment. All I think when I look at this thing is “cozy” and “that was easy”.
Grab your yarn and needles, cast on with your friends and pick up some yarn management tricks for the project.

Discount code: COZYDOESIT (saves $0.95 on the pattern)

Trunk Show with Grace's Cases

We are very excited to be hosting a trunk show with Grace's Cases on Friday, March 4th, 10-4pm.  These beautiful locally made needlecases are designed by a knitter, thoughtfully constructed and meticulously handcrafted!  They are some of the most beautiful needlecases we have seen and come in an assortment of configurations to hold interchangeable, fixed circular, DPNs, notions and crochet hooks.  The possibilities really are endless!  There are various sizes - some to hold multiple types and sizes of needles, some to tuck just a few needles in for travelling.  If needle storage is something you're looking for, this would be a wonderful chance to talk with the designers, Grace and Jaime, see all the different possibilities and even configure a case especially for you!!  Also available from Grace's Cases are project bags and tote bags that are designed with a knitter in mind.  These needlecases are a must-see!!
